An extinct species called when the last member of the species dies.

Extinction occurs when there is no living creature of the species that can be proliferate and form generation.

A species is also called functionally extinct, if some members are still alive but are not able to breed, such as old, or there is only one sex.

Makalah Kepunahan Jenis

Kepunahan dalam biologi berarti hilangnya keberadaan dari sebuah spesies atau sekelompok takson. Waktu kepunahan sebuah spesies ditandai dengan matinya individu terakhir spesies tersebut, walaupun kemampuan untuk berkembang biak tidak ada lagi sebelumnya. Tetapi dikarenakan wilayah sebaran sebuah spesies atau takson yang bisa sangat luas, sehingga sangat sulit untuk menentukan waktu kepunahan.
